We call this a sleeper wine because it is often used only in blends. This beauty shines all on its own! It is full of expressive earth tones complemented beautifully by high toned cherry notes. The fruit and tannins all come together in perfect balance on the palate with a lovely finish.

Tasting Notes
Mourvèdre is one of my sleeper favorite wines to drink and to make. This vintage is full of expressive earth tones that are complemented beautifully by the high toned cherry notes that we expect from our Mourvedre block. The palate has very balanced tannins with notes of fruit and a good finish of acidity. Lovely!
Vineyard Notes
This comes from our estate property, Morningsong Vineyards. It comes from a block planted in 2011 with North/South facing rows which allows for nice protection during our warm vintages.
Production Notes
Our Mourvèdre was picked early and destemmed and left whole berry. After a short cold soak, the wine was fermented with indigenous yeast and pressed off the skins after 8 days. We aged this in neutral oak barrels for 22 months before bottling.
Winemaker Notes
2020 was a vintage to remember. From early on in 2020, the vintage was quite warm. Bud break and set happened very smoothly and the crop size was considerably smaller after two large vintages. In the vineyard, all our varietals were concentrated in yields and delicious in flavors.
